What are Vegebus?

In a galaxy far far away, there is a solar system with nine planets. The fourth planet from the sun is shaped like a cabbage and on it lives a sentient race shaped like our vegetables. They are called the Vegebus. They are not edible unless you are a space cannibal.

Vege-ta-ble /ˈvɛdʒ.tə.bəl/ noun, plural vegetables non sentient plant that can be consumed for food

Vege-bu /ˈvɛdʒˌbʌ/ noun, plural Vegebus sentient plant that is capable of action, speech, thoughts and emotions

Vegebus grows from seeds. During special harvest moons, magical seeds falls like stars, Families who want fresh green leaves in their families choose a seed and plant them. There is no guarantee it will grow or what it will grow into though! That is part of the Great Mystery of Life.

Just like any other kid in town, they need lots of tender loving care to grow. This translates to having regular waterings, good fertiliser and lots of care when they are saplings.
